Let Me Translate That For You

For those who clearly need a little help.

okay but what even is this? 🌐

You know that one person in your life who messages you in a language you don't speak and just… expects you to figure it out? Or the coworker who somehow still doesn't know Google Translate exists in the year of our lord 2026? Yeah. This is for them.

LMTTFY (Let Me Translate That For You) generates a shareable link. You send the link. The recipient clicks it, watches a little animation of someone using Google Translate on their behalf, and then gets redirected straight to the translation. Passive-aggressive? Lowkey. Effective? Absolutely.

💅

how it works

  1. Type whatever needs translating — a word, a sentence, your entire feelings.
  2. Pick the source and target languages. We have 135 options. We did not miss.
  3. Hit Generate Link. Copy it. Done.
  4. Drop it in the chat, DM, email, or passive-aggressive Slack reply.
  5. They click. They watch. They learn. Growth.
🤌

why does this exist

Sometimes you need to say "maybe try the free translation tool that has existed since 2006" without actually saying that. LMTTFY is a diplomatic incident prevention service. You're welcome.

It's also just a great way to help someone out without sounding condescending. The animation does the condescending part for you. We understood the assignment.

are you guys Google?

Absolutely not. We have a lot of respect for their translator but they have no idea who we are. This is a completely independent project made by someone who was tired of explaining things twice.

Google Translate does all the actual translating — we just make the trip there a little more cinematic.

is my text stored?

Nope. Your text lives entirely in the URL — we have no backend, no database, no storage. Zero. Nothing is saved on our end.

Once you hit Google Translate, their privacy policy applies. We just made the link. We are not the feds.
