Welcome to Let Me Translate That For You ("LMTTFY", "we", "us", or "our"), operated by Garrett's Tech Services. LMTTFY has no user accounts and no sign-up forms. The only "content" you create is the shareable link (containing your chosen text and language pair), which is embedded in the URL itself and never stored on our servers.

2.2 Automatically collected data

When you visit LMTTFY, the following data may be collected automatically:

  • Usage analytics — page views, events (e.g. translation viewed), approximate geolocation (country/region), browser type, device type, and referring URL, collected via Google Analytics 4 (GA4).
  • Advertising data — ad impression and interaction data collected by Google AdSense, which may use cookies and device identifiers to serve personalised ads.
  • Server logs — our hosting provider (Vercel) may log standard HTTP access logs (IP address, timestamp, request path) for security and reliability purposes.

2.3 Cookies & tracking technologies

We do not set first-party cookies ourselves. Google Analytics and Google AdSense set their own cookies; for details see Google's cookie policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

When you follow a generated link and are redirected to Google Translate, you are leaving LMTTFY and your use of Google Translate is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

7. Data Retention

We retain analytics data in Google Analytics for 14 months (Google's default retention period). Server access logs are retained by Vercel for up to 30 days. We hold no other personal data ourselves.

8. Children's Privacy

LMTTFY is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through this site, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

9. Terms of Use

9.1 Acceptable use

You may use LMTTFY to generate and share translation links for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

  • Use the site to harass, threaten, or harm any individual.
  • Generate links containing illegal, defamatory, or hateful content.
  • Scrape, crawl, or otherwise automate access to the site in ways that impose an unreasonable load on our infrastructure.
  • Attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with security features.

9.2 Disclaimer of warranties

LMTTFY is provided "as is" without any warranty, express or implied. We do not guarantee uptime, accuracy, or that generated links will always function correctly (as they depend on Google Translate's URL format, which is outside our control).

9.3 Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Garrett's Tech Services shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of LMTTFY.

9.4 Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Texas.

We may update this policy periodically. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of LMTTFY after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
